With Aida, Giuseppe Verdi created one of his most popular works (at the Vienna State Opera, it is even his most performed to date), an opera that combines large mass scenes with intimate, almost com- mestic moments in a captivating dramaturgy of suspense. The revival in January 2023 will be performed by an internationally unique ensemble of soloists: Anna Netrebkos sings her first Aida and Jonas Kaufmann his first Radames at the Vienna State Opera, Elīna Garanča makes her long-awaited debut as Amneris, Luca Salsi can be heard as Amonasro and Alexander Vinogradov as Ramfis.
