Return to New York for performances at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera

Elīna Garanča returns to New York beginning next month for two performances at two of the city’s most famed stages. The Latvian mezzo-soprano first joins pianist Kevin Murphy for a March 19 recital at Carnegie Hall that features songs by Brahms, Duparc, and Rachmaninoff.

In April, Elīna bids farewell to the role of Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier at the Metropolitan Opera. Robert Carsen’s production costars Renée Fleming in her final Marschallin, with Erin Morley as Sophie, Günther Groissböck as Baron Ochs, Marcus Brück as Faninal, and Matthew Polenzani as the Italian tenor.

The new-to-the-Met production receives a gala premiere on April 13 and continues through May 13, with the closing matinee shown in cinemas worldwide as part of the Met in HD simulcast series.
