Coming Soon: New Album & Upcoming Tour

On May 10, Deutsche Grammophon releases Elīna’s newest album: Sol y Vida, a celebration of love and the long hot days of summer. A very personal selection of music from the Latvian mezzo, the album’s repertoire ranges from well-known opera arias to Spanish and Latin American favorites.

The album marks Elīna’s first recording of entirely non-core-classical repertoire, with a colorful program featuring tango, Latin American folk music, and Italian love songs. Karel Mark Chichon conducts the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria

Speaking her inspiration for the album, Elīna shares, “This new album is my musical tribute to the people who live under southern skies, and to the beauty and diversity of their ways of life.”

In celebration of her new album, the Elīna will tour with conductor Karel Mark Chichon and the NDR Radio Philharmonic. Beginning May 17 at Die Glocke (Bremen), Elīna presents five concerts across Germany, performing works by Verdi, Puccini, and Cilea, as well as zarzuela and other Spanish music.

The tour continues May 19 (Hamburg), May 21 (Gasteig), May 24 (Düsseldorf), and May 26 (Essen).
